Tyler Erb grabs top-10 finish in Silver Dollar Nationals prelim
After spending more than a month on the road with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, Tyler Erb and the Best Performance Motorsports team returned to action with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the 15th annual Silver Dollar Nationals at South Dakota’s Huset’s Speedway.
Erb opened Thursday’s preliminary program with an impressive fifth-to-second run in his heat race, then going on to record a ninth-place finish in the 40-lap opener.
In Friday’s preliminary, Erb crossed the line 16th. During Saturday’s $75,000-to-win finale, he was running 12th when persistent rain forced officials to call the 80-lap feature with 13 laps remaining.
