Super Bowl of Racing brings Erb and BPM to Golden Isles

For the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season opener, Tyler Erb returned the driver’s seat of the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model on Thursday at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) to kick off the three-day event.

With 51 competitors on the grounds, Erb squeezed into the Thursday’s opener with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Chasing the $10,000 top prize, Tyler was scored 23rd in the rundown after retiring with 10 circuits remaining.

After losing Friday’s program to persistent rain, Tyler stormed into Saturday’s $25,000-to-win Super Bowl of Racing finale with a sixth-to-third in his heat race. Pinned on the seventh row, Erb rebounded to finish 16th in the 60-lapper after suffering a flat right-rear tire on lap 52 while running 10th.
