Tyler Erb Doubles Up with DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Lee County and Lincoln
Banks $12,500 in Week Two Hell Tour Victories Across Iowa and Illinois
ST. MARYS, Ohio (06/23/25) – Reigning DIRTcar Summer Nationals champion Tyler Erb returned to his winning ways this past week, claiming a pair of Week Two victories on the Hell Tour aboard the Best Performance Motorsports / Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors No. 1 Rocket Chassis Late Model.
The New Waverly, Texas native capped off the week with a $7,500 payday at Illinois’ Lincoln Speedway on Sunday night, backing up his Thursday night triumph at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. The two wins brought his 2025 season victory total to six and marked his 17th career DIRTcar Summer Nationals triumph.
"It was a good race," Erb said in Lincoln Speedway’s victory lane. "I was trying to tell myself just not to to hit the wall too hard there in (turns) one and two and when we got to traffic, I could tell when he'd peel off of (the cushion), if I just stay up against it, I could make a lot of speed."
Week Two began with a Monday stop at Wisconsin’s Wilmot Raceway, where Erb came away with a seventh-place finish. He improved to fourth on Tuesday at Davenport Speedway before a rainout at Quincy Raceway on Wednesday reset the week’s momentum.
On Thursday, Erb returned to Iowa for a strong run at Lee County Speedway. After charging from sixth to second in his heat race, he lined up on the third row for the 30-lap feature. Erb tracked down early leader Christian Hanger on lap 19 and never looked back, leading the final 12 circuits to pocket the $5,000 winner’s check.
“I haven’t been doing what I need to do. It’s pretty simple, I need to drive the dogs—t out of it and when it’s my night, it’s my night,” Erb added. “I’ve been getting frustrated, searching for something that I’m probably never gonna have. I know what this car is good at and I know how to do it good and tonight was a perfect example. (I) just found the cushion and, really, I could peel off and run the bottom and be okay too.”
Friday and Saturday featured back-to-back co-sanctioned events with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. Erb finished 13th on Friday before rebounding with a solid fourth-place run in Saturday’s $20,000-to-win St. Louis Firecracker Faceoff finale.
He closed out Week Two on Sunday at Lincoln Speedway, charging past Jason Feger in the closing laps of the 30-lap A-Main to secure his second win of the week and cap a lucrative and competitive stretch across Iowa and Illinois.
