Tyler Erb Ends World of Outlaws Drought at Mississippi Thunder Speedway

Claims $25,000 Dairyland Showdown Opener

ST. MARYS, Ohio (05/05/25) – Tyler Erb made a triumphant return to World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series Victory Lane on Friday, snapping a winless stretch that dated back to April 22, 2022.

The New Waverly, Texas native delivered a dominant performance in Friday’s Dairyland Showdown opener at Mississippi Thunder Speedway, leading all 50 laps to capture a $25,000 victory aboard the Best Performance Motorsports / Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors No. 1 Clements Racing Engine / Rocket Chassis Super Late Model.

“I knew at some point the top would probably be the best bet,” Erb said. “I really didn’t expect it to be that good down [in Turns 3 and 4], but my guys were telling me ‘come on, do something.’ Finally, we hit lap cars there and I got in a pretty good rhythm. I could damn near drive wide open straight into [Turn] 1, just tried not to blow the tires completely off this thing. Once I started entering all the way up on the wall, full commit, I felt like I stretched out a little bit.”

Erb’s weekend at the Wisconsin oval opened with strong momentum on Friday, as the Best Performance Motorsports driver backed up a third-fastest qualifying time in his group with a convincing heat race victory. Earning the pole position through the redraw, Erb went on to dominate the 50-lap preliminary feature, leading every circuit en route to a $25,000 triumph—his second victory of the 2025 season.

Nick Hoffman followed Erb to the checkered flag to finish second, while Bobby Pierce completed the podium.

On Saturday, Erb continued his speed, setting the overall fast time in qualifying with a blistering 13.494-second lap. He backed it up with another heat race win, but a third-row starting spot in the $30,000-to-win finale made forward progress more challenging. Erb ultimately secured a solid sixth-place result to cap his weekend.
