Tyler Erb Tops Lucas Oil MLRA Stop at Adams County Speedway

Set to tackle four-race Illinois Speedweek

Tyler Erb cruised to his second win of the season over the weekend with Sunday's Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) triumph at Adams County (Ill.) Speedway aboard his Bulk Material Lift / Anthony’s Pizza No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports / Sani-Weld Inc. / Base Racing Fuel / First Class Septic / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The Texas driver earned $5,000 for his flag-to-flag victory in the Cinco de Mayo 40.

“It was a fun race .. this track is really cool," Erb said. "I like coming here, especially when it starts out wet how it was. Hot laps was sloppy and normally that tends to make a good race. It was kinda bottom-dominant, but the cushion down (in turns three and four) if you ran it just right, you could make speed ... it was just sketchy as all get out."

Friday night found Tyler Erb in action at one of his favorite tracks with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series-sanctioned Dairyland Showdown at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.).

With the originally scheduled three-day event condensed to a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, Erb raced into the opener with a third-place finish in his heat. Chasing the $25,000 top prize, Tyler muscled forward one spot in the 50-lap affair to finish 10th.

For another $25,000-to-win program on Saturday, Tyler backed up the fourth-fastest qualifying lap in his group with a heat race triumph. With the redraw placing him on the front row for the finale, Erb steered to a fifth-place finish when the checkers flew.

The weekend concluded for Erb on Sunday with a stop at Adams County Speedway (Quincy, Ill.) for the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) sanctioned contest. Pulling off a clean sweep, Tyler followed up the overall fast time honors with a flag-to-flag victory in his heat and the feature. He recorded the $5,000 payday ahead of Earl Pearson Jr., Gordy Gundaker, Garrett Alberson, and Chad Simpson.

The win marked Erb's first career MLRA victory.

Erb is gearing up for the third annual Illinois Speedweek, which is set for this Wednesday – Saturday. Action opens with a pair of $20,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America events on Wednesday and Thursday at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.) and Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway. Then on Friday and Saturday the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctions the action with a $25,000-to-win event at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway and a $30,000-to-win program at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway.
